About Us
Troop 90 in Longmeadow Massachusetts is part of the
Western Massachusetts Council
of the Boy Scouts of America.
We meet every Tuesday of the school year at Williams Middle School. We also try
to have one camp-out each month - even in the winter.
Scouting at this level differs from Cub Scouts in that the boys will do more for
themselves. Parents generally have less to do individually with the merit badges
and advancement your scout will earn, as at this phase of life, scouts are expected
to take more and more responsibility. But this does not mean we don't need
your help.
The scouts have opportunities to earn merit badges by participating in troop
activities. But an important part of advancement comes from parents who
volunteer to lead groups of scouts to earn merit badges. If you are
interested in helping the troop with advancement, please look at
www.meritbadge.org. We hope you will find a merit
badge that you are interested in and will volunteer some time to help
a group of scouts learn something new and earn a merit badge.
From the
Boy Scouts of America web site:
Boy Scouting is a year-round program for boys
around ages 11 - 17. Through the Boy Scout program, young men
